If you’re a graduating senior, congrats! You’re probably so excited to move on with the rest of your life, whether that’s starting a summer internship, getting ready for college in the fall, or jumping headfirst into the job market. But even if you’re ready to leave high school in the dust–and with it, the drama, the crushes that went nowhere, the AP classes–you should still approach your graduation day as your last hurrah. It’s your time to kiss high school goodbye with pride (expect crying parents and your phone’s camera roll to be obliterated), and a little style, too.

Sure, you’re going to be covered in robes and a silly cap for the entire duration of your graduation, but this is still an important event that you’ll want to get a little dressed up for. You might not be as anxious and particular about your graduation outfit as your prom look, but that’s an even bigger reason to be vigilant about the many wardrobe malfunctions and avoidable mishaps that can occur. Here are seven graduation style do’s and don’ts that you need to follow. Trust me, as someone who didn’t follow number three on the list (and paid the price), you’ll want to keep all of this in mind.

What other wardrobe malfunctions could ruin graduation day? Do you think that you should dress up fancy under your graduation robes, or casual? Tell us in the comments!
